Sai's 9 Back-up Singers' Biographies |
Aruna Aleem has studied piano, sung in school operettas, and taught music
to children. She learned of Sai Baba in 1969 and has incorporated his
teachings in her 34 years as a Montessori teacher. Maurice Barret Mendoza has been a Sai Baba devotee since 1972. He is committed to choral music and performs at Carnegie Hall with groups such as the Oratoriol Society. He has been a member of Sai's Nine since its inception, in 1995. Miguel Gonzalez has been a Sai Baba devotee for many years, and is a member of Sai's Nine. He has returned to his native Argentina, but intends to continue to perform, with the group, in the future.
Ella Gurevich,
first learned about Swami from her husband, in 1985; first trip to
Puttaparthi in 1986. Originally from Russia. In US since 1980, computer
programmer since 1982. Graduate of 5-year music school (class of piano),
member of Sai Lahari and SAI’s 9 singing groups. Anna Gurevich, Swami’s devotee from birth. Currently finishing 9th grade of Fair Lawn High School. Former member of school choir and choral ensemble, current member of Sai Lahari and SAI’s 9 singing groups.
MaryAnn Lee lives and works in New York City. She started her search for God as a small child and finally met Him, face-to-face, in 1993. Although MaryAnn sang in church choirs as a child, she only resumed her devotional singing when Sai Baba entered her life.
Elizabeth Noel sang in high school and college choral groups and spent four years singing competitive barbershop. A follower of Sai Baba and His teachings since 1988, she has a nutritional products business and is a licensed massage therapist. |
